Stephen Jackson slams LeBron: Lacked effort, judgment in Finals
Stephen Jackson says LeBron was ‘selfish’ when he punched a board in NBA Finals
Stephen Jackson, who played for the San Antonio Spurs when they won an NBA championship, called out Cleveland’s LeBron James for lacking effort or good sense in this year’s Finals. In Game 1 against the Golden State Warriors, James punched a white-board and injured his right hand. “It wasn’t a good decision by the guy who you expect to carry your team,” Jackson said on Fox Sports. “That was real selfish.” Jackson felt James deserves responsibility for his team being swept. “He wasn’t giving the same energy we see from LeBron.” James did not mention the hand injury until the series was over, which made it look like an excuse. “They got swept, 4-0. Take it like a man. Go home, bruh.”
Baltimore bar offers free shots whenever Chris Davis gets a hit
Chris Davis is having such a miserable season for the Baltimore Orioles – batting a major-league low .150 – that Bartenders Pub, located near the ballpark at Camden Yards, is serving free Dr. Pepper shots (Amaretto and Miller High Life beer) on those rare occasions when he gets a hit. The only catch is that attendance inside the bar is required at the time Davis hits. The first baseman led the American League in home runs in 2013 and 2015 but has only four homers in 229 at bats this year. Dana Coker, one of the owners of Bartenders, said business has suffered this season because the Orioles are losing so often. “We’re trying to give people a reason to come out and watch the games again,” he told USA Today.
Capitals defenseman Brooks Orpik lost part of a finger in Stanley Cup Final
Brooks Orpik, defenseman for the Washington Capitals, told reporters that his left pinkie finger “kinda fell off” when he was slashed by Erik Haula during Game 2 of the Stanley Cup Final against the Vegas Golden Knights. The finger was stitched back onto his hand without him having to miss any games. “It was tough to look at,” Orpik said, “but the trainers did a really good job.”

Julio Jones due $34.5 million over next three seasons, but he’s holding out for more
All-Pro wide receiver Julio Jones is under contract with the Atlanta Falcons to receive $34.5 million for the next three seasons. But Jones is not attending mandatory minicamp and is saying he will be holding out for the main training camp if his contract is not renegotiated.
Between the Lines: Most fans probably will say Jones is being greedy, but he’s making less than receivers who are not as accomplished, such as Davante Adams, Jarvis Landry and A.J. Green.
